Join the Core Aquatics Team

Core Aquatics is growing and we are looking for friendly, reliable people to join our team in Nottinghamshire. We deliver high quality swimming lessons with an in water teaching approach, small group sizes, and a strong focus on confidence, safety, and steady progress.

We teach children from age 3 years and also support adult swimmers. Our programme follows the STA International Learn to Swim Programme, and we welcome swimmers of all abilities, including those who benefit from additional support.

Current venues include The West Bridgford School and Nottingham High School.

Swimming Teachers

Swimming Teachers

We are looking for casual Swimming Teachers to join our team, with cover to start and the potential for regular shifts over time.

 

What you will do

You will teach swimmers of different ages and abilities, helping them build water confidence, improve technique, and progress through structured outcomes. You will plan and deliver fun, safe, and effective lessons that keep swimmers engaged and supported.

What we are looking for

We would love to hear from STA Level 2 qualified Swim Teachers who:

  • Have strong knowledge of the four strokes and key water safety skills
  • Can plan and deliver lessons confidently and consistently
  • Are professional, responsible, and reliable
  • Communicate well with swimmers, parents, and the wider team
  • Are willing to upskill over time through further training and qualifications

Development and training

We encourage ongoing development and may support teachers in gaining additional qualifications such as NPLQ and the STA Disability Award. Many of our team also engage with supplementary training linked to Autism Swim Approved teaching.

Lifeguards

Lifeguards

We are looking for qualified Lifeguards to supervise and support our swimming lessons.

 

Current regular shifts

  • The West Bridgford School
  • Nottingham High School

There may also be opportunities to pick up additional cover shifts across our venues.

What you will do

You will supervise swimmers in the pool, support teachers with session set up and pack away, and respond to any rescue or first aid requirements as needed. You will also be expected to attend regular training to keep your qualification current and your skills sharp.

What we are looking for

Candidates should:

  • Hold a valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
  • Be confident supervising a busy lesson environment
  • Be reliable, punctual, and professional
  • Have a positive attitude and a team focused mindset

Reliability and a good attitude are essential for this role.

Do I need to be qualified to apply?

Yes. Swimming Teachers must hold an STA Level 2 qualification, and Lifeguards must hold a valid NPLQ. If you are working towards qualification, you can still contact us and we will advise.
